Bulawayo Artists come together through music and merchandising
CantGet Music is leading the way for collaboration among Artists. The release of their EP along with the launch of CantGet T shirt Merchandise has to be one of the most impressive strides to ever be taken by any group in Bulawayo.
iZinjaTropaz EP is the Collaborative effort of AmaCan'tGet & RogerZw. Featuring Bulawayo Based Artists Mawiza,Amany Muzik, Barack Nkajoe, Shele,Black Sheep, Mkhehlemezi , Lorenzo and DJ Sgoba...the EP is set to top charts.
The name iZinjaTropaz was generated from the kasi saying "iZinja zeGame". The Project is influenced by iSgubhu Sound, a once popular House Dance sound. The sound is the continuation of the wave that we witnessed at the beginning of the decade when Seqa Mabhilidi rocked the Bulawayo community. The main goal is to revive iSgubhu by encouraging local artists to adopt the sound till it grows like ama piano,Gqom & Zim dance hall.
The Songs in the EP were inspired by festive season experiences;needless to say the tracks will be hot jams for the house dance scene.iZinjaTropaz has an interesting Track list with titles like Kumnandi laSkhona, Amabutho, Entweni, SiBusy, and Asinavalo. It’s definitely a jam packed compilation that will have everyone crooning.
The merchandise
AmaCantGet encourage artists in Zimbabwe to not only focus on selling their music,but to venture into selling merchandise as well. CantGet Music launched their CantGet T shirt Merchandise via Twitter and the sales are doing well.This afforded them the money to maneuver through the very tough 2020 of zero profits for many Artists in Zimbabwe amidst the Covid pandemic.
“Our Vision with this project is to reach out to a large audience and to break through the SADC region Music Industry scene”. The team also added that they wish to be booked on big shows as they believe their Project is one of the biggest things to come out of Zimbabwe.
